Super Heros!

Well I guess it would be better to say Super Heroins as tonight I would like to express my thanks to all the hard working mothers out there. As I'm starting to finish up a very very long day of work...including that of homework from 2am to 6am then school from 10am-4:30pm(with work in the middle), a church even from 5-10pm, small half hour break to do my nails and relax, and then cleaning my house in preparation for spring break and also my roommates parents that are arriving....I am exhausted but I realize that this is only one day of my life... and then I got to thinking about all that moms do. Moms are the master of being on top of things and I'm so appreciative of what they do. Somehow they have the energy to be able to get up everyday and take care of kids with all their activities, making food, cleaning house, etc. I don't know how they do it. All I know is that I've had about a Pepsi and a half to get me through today.

Moms, my Mom as the head of the mom list, are seriously gifts from God. I don't know how they manage to get everything done and are still sane to not want to kill everyone. I've learned some much from my mom and from other motherly figures in my life that I tell you. The tender loving hugs to let you know that the world is a harsh world but there is always a place close to her heart. They know where everything is even if somehow the house is eaten it....they go to battle in retrieving the lost items. The service they render to any and all, especially to their families. Cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, all without complaint. They travel long distances to help out for a weekend when things seem to be down in the dumps. Letters and packages always seem to arrive at the moment that I need them the most...always with loving words of encouragement.

How can one being have so much love for people who make messes and not clean up after themselves? I guess it comes from the simple sweet moment between family members that make it all worth it. After being in college for these past 4 years...being an RA, and living with roommates I'm gaining those qualities that I've seen my Mom share with me and learning the joy behind it. The simple appreciation for acts done fill my heart with joy...and even just knowing that you helped out someone who might have been having a rough day.

So without falling asleep at my computer I would just like to again say Thank you for being YOU! Teaching me so many things :)

PS...Sorry this is so long....But thanks for reading :)

Spring Fever!

So this weekend I got spring fever way bad. It was like 70 degrees and I had to get out and enjoy it. I also had the need for making things grown.....so I went out and bought myself a little garden...

I swear I have the most random moments in my life. My garden as you can see is doing very well though so far.....I bought them that way. I figured I couldn't kill them so easily if they were doing well to begin with. I'm really hoping they don't die on me. I think I get my love of making things grow from my dad. Every year he plants this huge garden and I love going out and roaming the rows of different plants. So with my dad's help I'm hoping to keep this little guys alive and looking well so I can use them for my cooking :)

My Birthday

So I had an amazing birthday yesterday! I really enjoyed hanging out with friends and seeing/talking to those I love! Last night Eliza and I went out to dinner and then went shopping
were I picked up my party shirt. Modest yet sassy! I love it.

I got beautiful flowers from Kathy and David. Which smell amazing!

At the end of the night I went out with Sam and Ethan for ice cream at Dairy Queen... which was the only place open but I had so much fun hanging out with them.

I just want to thank everyone for making my birthday so special with cards and presents. I've never felt so loved outside my family :)

MY family

I just have to say my family is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! They are so talented and they teach me so much. Sarah just got back from a technology conference and taught me how to better search the internet and other cool things to do with computers. Carren always sends me cards when I need them the most. Raymond helps me with getting my life in order and helps me organize a game plan for move on from college. My parents are always there for me. Sandee started a blog and got megetting onto facebook so I keep apart of their family from so far away. My nephew Evan is way way to smart for his own good! He just too the ACTs and got a 27......which for a 7th grader I think speaks for itself. My niece Natalie writes amazing poems that are filled with heart and soul....which I could only wish to be able to express in word like that. My niece Amy finds the good in everything. And Lauren is such a visual learner that she figure out from pictures how things like family traditions work.

I'm so proud to be in this little family of mine that it just makes me happy. I'm so excited to learn from them and to grow up with them :) I wish them all the best day EVER!

Know I know this isn't all of the things that I've learned or have enjoyed this year but for now this list will have to do. I've enjoyed my 21st year....even though I didn't get completely plastered or went to Vegas to gamble my life savings away. The simple things have brought the most joy in my life. I thank all who have added to my life by just being in it :) Here's to another year of opportunities, adventures and life's roller coaster :)

San Diego

So I haven't blogged in a while in which I'm totally sorry about. I've now found a spare moment for an update.

So last weekend during President's Day Sam, my roommate, and a couple of her friends decided to go to San Diego and she convined me that with my college career coming soon to a close I should cease the day and have some fun. I was reluctant at first but then I through caution to the wind and went. I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got there Saturday morning and played until Monday. We went to the bayfront in San Diego and the gas light district. I didn't take as many pictures and I should have but I took enough to make the trip memorable.

I forgot how good sand was between my toes!!!!! Its been 2 years since I've been on a beach...too long for someone who grew up on the coast her whole life.
